// The brief

THE JOB
BEHIND
THE WEBSITE.

AK Electrical needed a website the team could keep current. Their existing agency-built site had become difficult to update, leaving the online experience behind the business. The brief was to rebuild it on a manageable platform, modernise the presentation and create the flexibility to keep improving the content and SEO.

I rebuilt the website in WordPress and Elementor Pro, giving AK a clearer structure and a more useful editing foundation. The work brought commercial, residential and specialist electrical services into an organised presentation, with real photography, more purposeful content and straightforward routes to an enquiry.

// The thinking

WHAT I CHANGED.
AND WHY.

Put the website back in the team's hands.

A website needs to change as the business does. I moved AK’s existing Craft CMS website to WordPress and Elementor Pro, with reusable layouts and a consistent visual system. That gives the team a practical way to update service information, introduce new work and keep the website relevant, while keeping future design and content changes manageable.

Make a broad capability easy to navigate.

AK works across homes, commercial properties, facilities and specialist outdoor lighting. I organised those services into clear pathways and gave the commercial content a stronger focus on the realities of operating sites: maintenance, access, coordination and compliance. Visitors can understand where AK fits their job and move into more relevant detail before getting in touch.

Build a stronger foundation for search and content.

The rebuild started with an established collection of service pages and an existing search footprint. I shaped the content and page hierarchy around that foundation, with natural service language and clear Auckland context. WordPress gives AK and its marketing partners the flexibility to refine pages over time, while a new visual direction, drawn from the team’s own brand colours and photography, gives that content a more confident presentation.

// The website work

A STRONGER WEBSITE. MORE CONTROL OVER WHAT COMES NEXT.

An editable WordPress website.

A complete redesign and WordPress + Elementor Pro build with reusable layouts, a consistent design system and a practical foundation for the team to manage its content.

A clearer service structure.

Distinct routes into commercial, residential and specialist electrical work, supported by refined copy, focused page layouts and clear enquiry prompts.

A more authentic first impression.

Real AK Electrical photography, considered typography and a blue drawn from the company’s own branding connect the online presentation with the business people meet on site.

// The result

A BETTER
PLACE
TO START.

The result is a website that presents AK Electrical more clearly and gives the team a useful foundation to keep it that way. Visitors can find the relevant service, understand the capability behind it and see how to start a conversation.

For AK, the change is also practical: a modern platform with room to update content, add work and support ongoing SEO improvements. The website can develop alongside the business, with its structure and design working together.

// Project questions

THE USEFUL
DETAIL.

Why did AK Electrical need a new website?

The old site had become difficult for the team to update and no longer reflected the business as well as it could. AK wanted a modern presentation, clearer navigation and a manageable platform that would support future content and SEO work.

What did Daniel James do for AK Electrical?

I led the website strategy, custom design, content structure and WordPress development. The work rebuilt the site in WordPress and Elementor Pro, refined the service presentation and brought AK’s real imagery and identity into a consistent design.

How does the rebuild support SEO?

The website has clear service pathways, more focused page content and a platform that allows ongoing optimisation. The rebuild was planned around AK’s existing service pages and search footprint, giving the business and its marketing partners room to keep improving the content.
