// The brief

THE JOB
BEHIND
THE WEBSITE.

Living Landscapes has been constructing landscapes in Melbourne since 1987. Its work spans commercial sites, large-scale residential installations and ongoing maintenance, with a portfolio that includes hotels, education facilities, apartments and aged care. The business had the experience and project evidence. The website needed to give that material a clearer, more current presentation.

The ageing website needed a clearer structure and an easier way to maintain its content. I rebuilt it to help builders, developers, architects and property teams understand the business, assess its work and start the right conversation.

// The thinking

WHAT I CHANGED.
AND WHY.

Lead with the business they actually run.

I centred the homepage on commercial landscaping and the company’s history, with a direct introduction to what it constructs and maintains across Melbourne. The four service areas remain distinct: landscape construction, commercial landscaping, large-scale residential and maintenance. That gives visitors a way into the right detail without asking a single broad services page to explain every kind of project. The structure also gives each service a clear topic for search.

Make real projects carry the story.

Project photography was a central part of the collaboration. The team supplied and selected images for individual services, including residential installations and commercial work. I used the portfolio to connect capability with visible examples, with featured work at the Hyatt Hotel in Essendon Fields and Tip Top in Brunswick. The project descriptions name the landscape elements involved, from planting and irrigation to paving and custom furniture, giving readers something concrete to assess.

Give established expertise a simpler setting.

I gave the site a consistent visual direction and a clear hierarchy for the company’s services, people and project work. The About page brings the director and supervisors into view, including their qualifications and time with the business. Service pages connect to related capabilities and project enquiries, while the contact details make phone and email easy to find.

A consistent WordPress build

A new WordPress and Elementor build, with a consistent design across the homepage, About, four service pages, project portfolio and contact page.

Clear services and credible people

Projects with useful context

A curated presentation of client-supplied project photography, supported by project descriptions, related-page links and prominent phone and email contact options.

// The result

A BETTER
PLACE
TO START.

The redesigned website gives Living Landscapes a coherent presentation of the business it has built since 1987. Its commercial focus is clear from the homepage, with distinct services, an experienced team and a portfolio that shows the scale and variety of its landscape work.

Builders, developers, architects and property teams can find the service relevant to their project, assess examples of completed work and contact the right people. The website connects that practical information through one consistent design, giving established expertise a clearer presence online.

THE USEFUL
DETAIL.

What did Daniel James do for Living Landscapes?

I handled the website structure, copy refinement, design and WordPress build, working with the Melbourne team on feedback and project photography. The new site uses Elementor and covers the company’s services, people, project work and contact information.

Why organise a landscaping website around separate services?

Commercial construction, residential installations and maintenance involve different requirements. Separate pages let Living Landscapes explain each area clearly and show relevant work, while related links help visitors explore the wider capability of the team.

How does the website help visitors assess Living Landscapes' experience?

The portfolio pairs real project photography with descriptions of the landscape work involved. Service pages explain the company’s capabilities, and the About page introduces the director and supervisors. Together, those details help visitors understand the team’s experience before getting in touch.
